Tyler Shalansky

PT, MScPT, BSc.Kin

Tyler graduated from the well-respected Masters of Physical Therapy program at the University of Western Ontario. This program was a natural progression for him following the completion of his undergraduate degree in Clinical Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia. Tyler has completed post graduate certifications in Biomedical Dry Needling, exercise-based rehabilitation and advanced manual therapy techniques.

Tyler has experience as a Physiotherapist with the management of:
– General orthopaedic injuries
– Sports injury rehab
– Injury prevention
– Arthritis management
– Post-operative rehabilitation
– Workplace injuries and return to work planning
– Post stroke, Parkinson’s disease and general neurological rehab
– Concussion rehab

Sports injury rehabilitation is Tyler’s passion. He has worked with athletes across several sports and all age groups in the past. Through his career he has had the opportunity to work with athletes at the university and professional level, along with many recreational athletes in our community.

A former athletes himself, Tyler played competitive soccer being recognized as the BCSPL Player of the Year in his graduating year, going on to play four years for UBC Okanagan Heat Varsity Soccer Team while achieving U-Sport Academic All-Canadian Athlete status.

As a member of the Saanich community you can find Tyler on hikes with his family and dog, at the ski hills on powder days, or playing in local sports leagues. Tyler is passionate about providing quality care to patient’s at our Royal Oak location.
