Dr. Kent Butler
Podiatrist, DPM
Dr. Kent Butler grew up in Kamloops and pursued the sciences at the University of Calgary. He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree with honours from the California College Of Podiatric Medicine in 1987. His education continued with a one year surgical residency followed by a one year biomechanics fellowship at the Pacific Coast Hospital in San Francisco. This was the only biomechanics residency offered in North America.
Specializing in biomechanics helps Dr. Butler accurately asses patients foot and leg function during the gait examination. As a student, Dr. Butler worked for four years learning and making prescription orthotics for podiatrists. He learned various fabrication techniques and modification skills to facilitate orthotic function. Dr. Butler prides himself on personally handcrafting every step of each custom orthotic for his patients.
